I was born in 1964, in Panevėžys. Since 1979 I live in Vilnius: initially in the district of Naujoji Vilnia, then – Naujininkai. Therefore I know very well many problems of these districts.

I graduated economical and social work studies in the Vilnius University. After I had probationary in Poland, Ireland, Denmark and U.S.

Subsequently I worked at the factory “Grąžtai” as engineer, also at the Vilnius Social Support Centre as director assistant. From 1997 to 2000 I was councillor of Vilnius Municipality and chairman on Social Affairs Committee. Together with the interests we succeeded to open number of new social services: Mother and Child Pension, first Vilnius Hostel, Nursing Home, Employment Centres for children with mental disorder and mental illness.

I was elected to LR Seimas in 2000. From 2000 10 19 to 2001 07 05 I was chairman on Social Affairs and Labour Committee. I prepared Lithuanian Labour Code, Pension Reform Law, Guarantee Fund Law and etc. Also I contributed to the presentation of European Social Charter ratification. I worked in Parliamentary Assemblies of Lithuania-Poland and Lithuania-Ukraine. I always maintained close cross-border relations in the field of social protection and economy. I initiated abolition of visas to Ukraine.
